Can turn my mind off at night to sleep?

At the end of the day I am very tired from school and work and I lay down to sleep but I just can鈥檛 turn my brain off. All I do is think about what I have to do the next day, my relationship, my family, just anything. Even after I fall asleep, if I wake up in the middle of the night the same thing happens, I just start thinking and can鈥檛 sleep. I sometimes try to count and it works a little but even then I still get distracted. Any advice?
Answer:
Try over the counter sleep aids first, if that doesn't work see your doctor.
I would avoid prescription sleep aids because we all know how crazy those make us. I had a wicked case of insomnia but I guess sleeping in a bed with someone else has helped me recover.

You seem to have some sort of anxiety or stress issue you need to resolve. Perhaps go talk to someone. Also, if you are so focused on the fact that you can't sleep, it may be counterproductive and is the reason why you can't sleep.

Getting into a routine may help too. Spray your pillowcases with some lavender scent.
put a notepad and pencil next to your bed, when you think of something write it down, it will be on your list in the morning, no need to think of it anymore. sleeping pills from Dr. although not always a good long term solution they do let you sleep.
Haha... you just described me. I have been watching TV for the last ten years until I fall asleep. I set the sleep timer. Recently I decided that this wasn't the best way to fall asleep. I tried a week of lunesta to get myself on track sleeping. It really didn't work entirely. but helped me started.
Now I do something really silly. I think of something completely non-stressful. I pick out what I am going to think about before I even go to bed. I always choose something like... what if I got my hair permed... how would all the people I know react. Seriously silly I know. but I focus on that and think about it in such detail it makes me fall asleep. It also keeps my mind from progressing in to... "what tasks do I need to do" land. Best wishes.
You can get a free trial week of lunesta from your doc.
Try reading a good book till you get tired. I have the same problem. But I read till I get sleepy and then I lay there and think on what I was reading and I drift off to sleep.
Watch what you eat. Avoid food and drinks with cafferine like chocolate and sodas, tea, energy drink so late at night Also just before you go to bed take a hot bath with some epsom salt, or use one of those fussy baby products. I use it and it really do help.
i have the same problem.
but you know what?
you try to talk to a friend or someone that you really trust it really helps.
you must have been thinking in lots of issues that are bothering you.
focus only to sleep.
try drinking a cup of any hot relaxing dink, like anise before sleep,it's so relaxing.
also sleep everyday at THE SAME EXACT TIME,to accomodate and adapt your central nervous system that it's your time to get some relax.
also try to count numbers DESCENDINGLY,from 500 for example and downward.
you know something FABULOUS?
go for meditation.
if you don't know how to,you could contact me at my mail, and i'll tell you how,it helped me sooo much.
also i have some texts and relaxing music that i can send you if you want.
i hope you be better by soon :)
Seek alternative and find the one most suited method to get you to lala land. Ive got the same problems as you(think too much), and it becomes more serious near my exams.Ive tried listening to music but it doesnt have any effect. I find it much easier to sleep when thinking about any unimportant stuff( imagine if i can fly.. haha)
hello there, you have a run-away mind that needs some attention to slow it down. I don't know if your open to ideas that we don't practice in western society on a whole. However, i think you'll find meditation, or some form of focus and release exercises will greatly improve your situation and your life. Yoga, breathing exercises, martial-arts..so many to choose from. The only thing for sure, is that you have to do it on your own. Even with guidance, no one can slow your mind down for you. I strongly recommend reading "The way of the peace full warrior", by Dan Millman. ( Quick excises.. sit comfortably.. hold your body still..breathe slowly in through the nose hold it for a second intentionally, and exhale out the mouth, slowly. all the while being conscious of relaxing your muscles ( especially in your shoulders and neck, on every exhale.)..do this for 15 minuets.an you will relax and slow down. yoga and other things are good because you have a teacher though.
Is it always like this or do you get days where you sleep easy. do you wake up tired? it could be many things, i do need more info. I don't believe any alternative meds work so i would get some sleepers or even benzos will work just don't get carried away with pills. if none of this appeals to you just chuck some headphones find a teddy to hug
Have you ever tried making a list at night before you go to bed of all the things you have to do for the next day that way you get it of your mind before you go to bed and you dont have to spend the night worrying about it. Good Luck.
Practise one of the relaxation techniques in bed after lights out (mantra repetition, or mindfulness breathing) at http://www.ezy-build.net (.net.nz/~shaneris) on page 2, and read page 3.
i find tylenol pm to be really helpful. i get the caplets and i take 1 but i break it in half so it absorbs more quickly and i don't get the hungover feeling in the morning. it relaxes you enough so u call fall asleep and i usually sleep thru the night w/out any problem.
You are busy, and so when you go to bed, you mind has not had the time to slow down, and relax. You need to give you mind some quite time, and just relax. If you can not do that i would say go to you doctor and tell him / her what is going on, and they can help.
I go through the same thing. At one point the only thing that would help was medication. I was taking Zyprexa. I stopped taking my medicine and now I just take a long bath before bed and Im usually able to sleep.
A medicine called Seroquel works really well in such a case.It is actually an anti-psychotic but also used as a sleeping pill.
This might sound kinda out there but have you tried meditation? I think it has been said that we have like 60,000 thoughts a day. It can be difficult to control all of them and our minds can go into overdrive.
Meditation is crazy how it works. I mean all you have to do is sit there and focus on your breath, in and out. When a thought takes you away from your breath gently release the thought and get back to the breath. It sounds crazy that it can help you out but it totally does. I think it teaches the mind how to calm down.
You can get meditation CD's at your library. That is where I got mine. There are some goofy ones out there but I think there was on my Jack Kornfield that I liked.
Good luck!

Cant wake up?

hey guys im 16 and have to get up around 730 everymorning to go to school, thing is no matter how many alarms i set i can never wake up ill just turn it off and roll over. i get to bed around 11 anyone have any ideas on how to get up early?
Answer:
Dude I'm 17 and I've always had this problem.

One thing I have noticed is that the more excited I am about the day the faster I get up (makes sense right). So like when I'm on vacation or on Christmas morning you obviously wake up faster. This isn't saying you like a pessimist that doesn't think something good is going to happen everyday, you just think it can wait a bit, you might even be a bit of a procrastinator if I'm correct. I am too, it's cool, we still can be really productive ha.

SO WHAT IS GOING TO HELP YOU WAKE UP?!
You don't have to necessarily get excited about every day, cause you can't always, but what it is that really gets you up, besides caffeine, is the bodily excitement or adrenaline. I'm no scientist, but try drastic wake ups. I mean, really loud music that comes one as an alarm, that you actually like and isn't annoying, it'll get you a bit happier and pumped, it'll make you feel like you're in a movie with a soundtrack ha, if you know what I mean.

Then once you actually get up, do a couple small exercises, just for a minute or two,l ike a set of push ups or crunches or jumping jacks or something like that, that'll get the blood flowing and the adrenaline raging. Kick start your days, I do this now on workdays, and on the weekends I catch up on sleep ha.

To comment on the others (I'm not saying they're wrong), but drinking alot of water may just wake you up in the middle of the night to make you pee. And all older people talk about is getting more sleep, sometimes it just isn't possible cause of homework and family stuff, catch up on sleep on the weekends or take a nap every few days, or sleep in class ha, jk. Going to sleep earlier prolly won't help too much, I've tried that too, plus it's hard to get to sleep earlier if you aren't used to it. Just wake up with something kinda fun, annoying alarm clocks won't last, you'll just break em ha.
Try going to bed at 10 and see if that helps. Teenagers actually need quite a bit of sleep so adding an extra hour can't hurt. Stay on a schedule too. It is easier if you go to bed and wake up at the same time every day.
This is a pretty common problem. Can you have anyone wake you up? If so that can work. Try telling yourself and concentrating on it that you will get up at 7:30. Good luck!
Go to bed earlier.
drink lots of water the night before
I have the same exact problem...
Have anybody there to wake you up? Ask somebody to do so if there is someone there. Have a friend give you a wake up call if you have nobody. Otherwise... there isn't much you can really do.
i have the same problem!only im 13

my friend emailed me this site.Im gonna get one cuz it will work! THEY ARE THE GREATEST ALARM CLOCKS EVER!

you need to go to this site too!it is..

http://www.vincentchow.net/274/the-10-mo...
get an alarm with an irritating sound and with a hard way of turning it off. also try sleeping around 9-10, i know how ur feeling im 15 and i cant get up easily either.
Dave, Phil Connors here. You know, maybe you just need more pillow time. A lot of guys your age just need more time in the sack because of all you must do in a day. You go to school, try to learn stuff, hang out with friends, wonder about relationships, lift weights at the gym, surf the net, check out myspace and cruise for chicks. That takes a lot out of a guy. You may also be suffering from OSA - obstructive sleep apnea. Ask someone if you snore a lot or seem to obstruct your airway at night when your sleeping. If you do, see your doctor and let him/her know you think you may have sleep apnea. They can help you find your way to alert living. Good luck! Phil.
maybe you should try and sleep 8-9 hours so that your body is fully rested. Since you wake up at 7:30 then maybe you should try and go to sleep at 10:30. If not maybe you should tell your doctor..
Drink alot before you go to bed so you really need to pee when you wake up.
Well if you want to get up earlier, you should go to sleep earlier. See how that works. If youre body is only used to about 8 and a half houts of sleep, then try Going to sleep 8.5 hours before you need to get up. I'd recommend going to bed earlier gradually, that way its not a huge difference, about 5 minutes earlier per night should do the trick
Younger its easier to sleep for me but i got older i felt find with 7 to 8 hours of sleep each night. Summer time working nights make it differcult to sleep because of longer days, and the sun comes your cyrdcain rythrm gets a little wacky for me.
My suggestion is to try going to sleep earlier, one time is not going to work, you have to give you body time to adjust.

Also, my mom use to come in after I fell asleep and hide a "wind up" clock somewhere in my room, so that way I would have to get out of bed in the morning and find it to shut it off. By the time I found it I was out of bed long enough to stay awake.
Hope this helps.
Good Luck

Can't stop eating when i am stress?

i am so stressed out, and i can't stop eating. i need help! how can i stop eating if i am stressed out?
Answer:
You need to give yourself an alternative behaviour and learn to control your stress levels. Join a gym, yoga or pilates class, exercise will kick in the adrenalin to release the feel good chemicals in the brain and lower stress levels. If money is an issue walk for 15 mins turn around and walk back for 15 mins. What happens is that you are only taking 30 mins for exercise a day however, the distance increases as your fitness level rises.
Also, work out what makes you stressed out and try to keep these things to a minimum. Have only healthy snacks available, celery, carrot, capsicum etc., washed and ready to eat will not only satisfy the 'eating' it will supply you with fibre, vitamins etc., that will help your body to cope with stress. Chewing gum is another way to get satisfaction of chewing with little or no calories.
Emotional eating is one of the biggest problems to overcome if food was used to 'make us feel better' when we were kids.
There are heaps of books out there on this subject, check them out in the library.
Good luck.
Join the club. I haven't found the answer to that question with.
Well you could figure out why your stressed and fix that. Therefore you could stop eating because you wouldn't be stressed anymore.
well i think we all have the same problem like you but some people just don't know when to stop.. before this when I'm so stress up, i consult food for pleasure and comfort. i thought it would really help me but at the end my health is on the risk. starting from that i turn to music when I'm stress up, music can relate us in some way or another. I'll sing along and sing my heart out and don't have any contact with anyone at that moment because sometimes we just need some space and time for our self.
so good luck.
don't ever give up.
keep holding on.
go out and walk
chew on some gun , it helps the stress and curbs you appetite
Thats normal, everyone does.

Can't stay mad?

why is it that i can't stay mad at people? for example if someone did something to me that anyone else would disown them for i would get mad for like a day and the next day or so i'm not mad and it's kind of like it never happened. sometimes its even quicker, like if my mom and i were to get into a big fight and couple hours later it would kind of be like nothing happened and i would ask whats for dinner and she still hadn't got over it and yell at me or something. I have ADD is that why or maybe am i bipolar?
Answer:
Lucky!
Maybe you're just a nice person? I can never stay mad at people for very long either, but neither can anyone else in my family on most occasions. We'll fight, but after an hour or two, everybody ends up feeling sorry and we work things out.
You've been Blessed with a Great Gift , my friend. I don't know why you can't stay mad at people but I think that it should be a Non-Issue.
Not getting mad is great.
its getting mad/ angry @ the wrong things @ the wrong times that hurts.
doesnt sound like bipolar to me
I don't think you have anything wrong with you. I do exactly the same thing. I get mad, then just forgive, put it in past, chalk it up to experience and move on. People tell me I have a "big heart". I think you just have a good disposition and care for people and there is nothing wrong with that, but don't let people take advantage of the fact that you have this good disposition and that you are so caring! You have a very good quality!
This is not a mental illness. This is a gift. Holding a grudge is not a healthy thing to do. Be glad that you can get over your anger in a reasonable period of time. This is definitely not bipolar disorder. And I don't believe it's ADD. It's your make-up. As long as your aren't being a dorrmat, there is absolutely nothing wrong with not staying mad.
Dude, this is me to a 'T'. We are exactly alike, how crazy. I kind of like it that way, though, you know? It's got its advantages.
i totaly know what u mean and im pretty sure its just cause ur nice or dont care lol no worries
It sounds to me like you're a people pleaser, and you can't stay mad at them because you want to make them happy, not sad.

Just don't overdo it and get walked all over and you'll be fine.
No, you are normal for your personality. Lots of guys, for instance, will get mad, say their piece, and then they are over it. It is often a female trait for the female to stay angry for a long time and to hold grudges (not necessarily always true, just tends to be true).
Whatever else you do or don't do, I would recommend that you make sure you are being true to yourself, and that you don't let people walk all over you. If getting mad and saying what you have to say gets you the respect you deserve, it obviously is working for you.
And if you are able to let things go, even if you do remember them, without getting even, that's fine too.
Learn from your mistakes, learn from others mistakes, and you'll do fine.
And, no, I don't think anything is wrong with you. Sounds like just your personality. So I think it's fairly safe to say relax about that.

Remember, everybody is different. Me, I like to read "The Color Code", by Taylor Hartman. It gave me a great deal of insight into my personality, and why I do what I do. If I guess right, you are a White, when it comes to temper etc. Look it up, see if you agree. You may find it very interesting.
i think you just have a big heart. You forgive easily and you don't take things to heart, which is a good thing and i see no point of your worrying. Being angry and mad at someone isn't a good feeling most of the time. And besides, it's not good for your body in the long run anyway (if you're always mad at people).
So, my advice to you is that you stay this way.
And btw, if you're not mad at a person, that means you have forgiven him / her. Stop denying it. It's a good thing. :)
and you don't sound like you are bipolar at all.
That is a characteristic we all sure employ as part of our daily walk in life. To many times people major in minors. Because of that we cheat ourselves out of the good things in life.

Cant stand my mom!?

I cant god damn stand this place. We live in a 2 story house and she just rips everything apart trying to "fix it" and never finishes. She knocked a wall out upstairs, and never went back to doing anything with it, she then scraped the stipple off the ceilings and left it all shitty looking, and never went back to it, she then ripped all the baseboards out, ripped the floor out of the kitchen and all the cupboards, and half *** painted everything trying to make it look nice, when it actually looks like hell!! Now she has gone from doing stuff inside to ripping the whole lawn out of the front yard, and trying to " make the yard nice ", meanwhile the whole inside is getting trashed because she is always outside! I don't know what to do! HELP!
Answer:
It is possible that she suffers from ADD or ADHD. While there is realy nothing you can do to make her stop, you might want to try and do a project with her. This might be enough to keep her on track. It is also possible that she is trying to run away from something. When my husband gets realy upset about somethin he either works on our house or he works out at the gym. You might want to look into helping her redirect her energy.
You, and every other teenager on the planet, join the club. Good news is, your invited to leave when your 18, good luck :)
try helping her.
kill her and move out.
hire a professional repair man
HA! u got it easy! u shud meet my mum, i wud prefer it if she did crazy stuff like ur mum! (seriously, i wud!)
Bummer...maybe u should offer to help her finish a project...OR if you are old enough...get a job and move out.
gee, have u tried..idk...TALKING TO HER?
you need to help that mom yours she needs to finish it right not half *** you better jelp her out
Sounds like she needs a specialist in mental health instead of home repair. Can you step in and help finish a small project she started or won't she let you help? If you start small, if usually gives you the confidence to get a little bigger project done, and it feels good when one gets done.
Whoah I'm sorry but there really isn't anything you can do. it sounds like your mom needs a hobby or some counseling (sorry to say that) but it seems she really isn't happy with the house...would help if she had help with it.
Does your family know about this? I suggest maybe you talk to your aunts or uncles or grandma w/e and ask if they think she need help. Maybe you all can work together to make the house better or to help her with her illness. Someone needs to sit down and talk to her.

You could take pictures of the mess...maybe she doesn't see the mess like you do... Maybe looking at some photos of how horrible it is..or showing before and after photos...she will be like omg.
sounds bad have her check with counseling or have one to go see you and they can see what she is doing with out her knowledge if she needs help she will have to ask for it, did you check with child protection.
dude how old r u ?
just wait till ur eighteen! :)
see if u can get a few friends over and try to help fixing things the right way, maybe your mom gets started and don't finish because she has no one to help her, or she satrts and finds she don't have the money it would cost to fix it, just try to give her a hand in it and fix things the best u can with what u have to work with
Why don't you try helping her. Do your research first on DYI.com

pick a room that bothers you the most and see what it will cost to fix it and ask your mom if she can afford to do it with you.

Good Luck
Seriously, theres a lot of people like that, start something and not finish it, and keep moving from one thing to another. It's nothing to "hate" your mom over, maybe you can try helping her.

Cant stand it anymore please help!?

i cant stand it anymore i HATEEEE being fat no one understands i cant go through this summer being like thiss id rather die. i hate my body and how i cant control myself. ill diet for a weeek and lose 8llbs then ill binge and gain it all back. i need to get down to 120 but the end of junee...ps im 16 5'9140lbs grossest thing ever but i dont know what to do i exercise ALOT and try to stick to dietss but can i lose 20 lbs this month?? because people are probably embarrased to be seen with mee bc i sure would be gahh help pleease advice anytthing
Answer:
You can't be serious, right? 140 pounds and very tall, you are in no way shape or form fat. It's in your head. If people are embarrassed to be seen with you, they are not good people, and it could be because of your serious self-esteem problem. I have been overweight all my life (real overweight, not imagined-180 pounds and 5'5") and have always had the best friends, even ran with the popular crowd and played lots of sports. I was very self confident and it showed and people liked me. You don't need to be rail-thin for people to like you. You just need to be LIKEABLE! You say no one understands. Yeah, right. There are millions of seriously overweight people who understand where another overweight person is coming from, but since you are not overweight, no they don't understand. Us "fat" people can't understand why you "skinny" people think you're fat. If you do lose some weight, do it the right way. Not 20 pounds in one month, it will never last and you'll end up with an eating disorder. Exercise, pay attention to how many calories you're eating (don't go under 1300 calories in a day or you'll go into starvation mode and not lose weight properly), and you'll look better even if you don't lose weight.
The problem with almost all diets is that they are hard to stick to, even if they do work. You need to find a diet that YOU can stick to, and you won't keep any weight off if you don't excercise. Try eating the same foods but smaller portions. Don't skip meals - this will slow down your metabolism and actually make you gain weight, but you don't want to over-do it and binge, because after not having eaten much for a while your body will think it is starving so when you do eat it stores it as fat. I think you should see a nutritional consult. Get help from other people - it will be easier and more motivating for you if you have help.
first thing is relax you're not particularly overweight. Secondly it's not healthy to lose more than a couple pounds in a week so stop binge dieting. Your body has built in defenses against binge dieting which is why when you binge diet you will always gain the weight back EVERY time. That being said I suggest consulting a dietition and if you have self-image problems a therapist.
fat ? in this world there are fat people and also thin people... if you want to go on diet the best way is to remind yourself the pretty clothes which doesn't suit you due to your size... before eating unhealthy food, think of the dire consequences... sweet stuffs is the worse. eg. sweet stuffs disbetics, salty high blood pressure, high cholestrol, KIDNEY FAILURE ! it is not easy to slim down... dun worry... the strongest person is not the person who never failed but the person who stand up again when failure happens... i am a fat girl and my peers also sneer at me... i tell myself the above questions and i will avoid unhealthy food... dun hesitate to throw away a half-eaten food or drink... which is unhealthy food eg. french fries... wasting food is definitely better then wasting your health... cheer up... =)
K.k.. As fellow fat person, the first thing to do is LIGHTEN UP on yourself. Secondly, don't diet.
Diets just cause binge eating which causes you to gain all the weight you lost.
Change how you eat. Loose the chips and the soda, drink water, and eat your veggies. Have the munchies?? Try eating carrot sticks or cucumber and tomatoes with Italian dressing.
Exercise.. don't kill yourself jogging 12 miles, up hill, in the rain. Take walks at a faster pace, use the stairs, park way out in the parking lot so you have to walk to the doors.
Just taking a few simple changes in your life will make a huge difference.
NOW. you need to be fine with who you are as well. Until you think better of yourself, no one else will either. Make a list of everything that makes you special and remind yourself of those everyday. Even if it means reminding yourself how pretty your smile is. If people don't like you for who you are, they are not worth having as friends in the first place!!
Your height and weight sound like they are just right to be healthy. Instead of focusing on the weight number, just focus on being healthy, i.e. eating fruits and veg, legumes, fibre, lean protein and do cardio workouts (long, fast walks).
HAVE YOU EVER SEEN MARILYN MONROE? She was far shorter than you, and often weighed up to 140. She was gorgeous, she remains one of the quintessentially beautiful women.

IF YOU ARE 5 FEET 9 INCHES TALL AND 140 LBS, YOU ARE FAR FROM GROSS. ANYONE EMBARRASSED TO BE SEEN WITH YOU HAS A WORSE EATING DISORDER THAN YOU DO.

I hope you will become more realistic and stop hanging with people who are so mentally ill that they cause you to think you are gross.

Your body won't hold a lower weight, because a lower weight is not healthy. You are going to make yourself very sick physically and you are already getting sick mentally because of the very strange, bizarre, and distorted image you have of yourself.

At any rate, cut out all sugar, all white flour. Continue to exercise about 1/2 hour a day. Get better friends. Develop your mind so you aren't so obsessed with your body. Volunteer with disabled people so you get a truer sense of the absolute beauty of your body.

Good luck - been there, done that.
Instead of weight loss what you need is self image acceptance...There are a lot of people myself included who would kill a man to be 140 pounds...especially at your height...I don't know what kind of people you suround yourself with but I think maybe instead of trying to loose pounds you'll never loose, you need to see a doctor about gaining self-esteam...
stop eating meat for a few months and do a colon cleanse, you can get the herbs at the health food store. Most american adults carry around about 15-20 pounds of undigested food and compacted fecal matter in their digestive tract.
Oh wow to be 140 lbs is actually my goal!! It sounds to me you're ok. You're a tall girl and your bmi " Body Mass Index is 20.7, which is normal for someone with your height and weight. As far as your friends being embarrassed something has to be be wrong with them. Just because they might be skinny they might just have some insecurities issues themselves! Also by binge dieting will only make your body want to binge eat when you do eat because it wasn't getting them good nutrients before!!
I am very sorry that you feel that way about yourself. I am 5' 6" and weight 150. You are much taller than me and seem to be obsessed with your weight. (Don't get me wrong, I want to loose about 8 pounds myself)

I blame today's society and our morals as a whole because all you see on T.V. are anorexic "girls", not women. Before you get offended, I say girls because most of these "wanna be women" do not even get their period every month like God intended because their diet does not sustain their body's daily needs.

Like I said previously, I weight 150 and am 5' 6" tall. I really do not see myself being overweight at all, especially when all I hear are compliments and get stares and smiles from men.

Let me let you in on a little secret: Men DO like women with meat on them. I am not saying that you have to be a big size, but if you can see your bones thru your skin; then I believe there is a problem (like your collar bones, rib cage).

Try this, take a picture of yourself (full body) and of of some of your friends wearing the same style and color of clothes. Develope the pictures with the option of having duplicates and have your Mom or someone else cut off all the heads of each individual picture. Then all of you can try to guess who's body it is and then finally having the original picture(s) brought out to see who it actually it is. This will help you grasp a more real picture of yourself. I BET, will all my heart that your "body image" will change because you will be able to see the way your body really looks instead of a fantasy view.

Hope I have helped you, and do not let society dictate who you really are.
Oh good lord. You are not fat for your height .. You are being way too hard on yourself. There are many more important things in life to worry about. The only person who cares about this is you, and you really need to like yourself for who you are, not for how much you weigh. Your making yourself crazy over this and it is not worth it. Find a hobby or something, take your mind off of yourself and see the big picture.
Nikki, don't worry you're only 16 and for 5'9" and 140 you're beautifully built. Don't worry about others and what they think of you. I am a grown man, and I was born real skinny but I had real affection for women. It didn't not matter to me if she was fat, skinny, tall or short. What matter to me was that the person had a good personality and like to laugh. My friends use to tell me, Man, tony why do you date woman like that? you're a handsome guy and could do better and you know what I said. You live your life and I live mine, and that's the way it should be. Ok, I didn't make many friends but I did it my way. So DON"T WORRY you'll be fine. And good luck.

Get off computer.

Turn off all lights.

Find most relaxing position on bed.(may not be the same way that you sleep in every night.)

Take deep breaths. And get off computer.
Well there's nothing I could say that could help right now. In the future, you have to do a lot of stuff during the day that makes you tired. So then when you go to your bed you will fall asleep.
hahah answer above...i like their style:P but i gotta agree.if that doesnt work get on the juice that'll knock ya out

Best bet right now - do what can be called the tension / release relaxation method followed by an intro meditation practice that ought to put you right to sleep.

Get in bed, lie on your back, ready to sleep. If you can physically do the following, go ahead. Do not hold your breath while you tense your muscles.

== without changing position, tighten *all* the muscles in your left leg from toes to thigh and hold for about 5 seconds +/-, 10 if you like *then release suddenly* and let the leg lie quietly.
= rest for one or two breaths
== repeat in the right leg i.e., tighten and release the muscles in your right leg
=rest
== do the left arm but don't move it out of position - you can make a fist or spread you ringers to do the hand muscles
= rest
== right arm
= rest
== tighten and release stomach muscles - this will mostly be the front but add the back muscles if you can
= rest
== chest and upper back muscles
= rest
== neck, face, and scalp [*stop* if you hear a whine or whistling noise in your ears]
= rest -

By now your body should be relaxed and you might drift off to sleep.

If not quite ready, try a simple breath counting exercise. As you lay quietly on your back, arms at your sides, gently breathe in and count 'one' - pause just a second then gently breathe out and count 'two'. When you get to ten, start over again at one. Most people will lose count, so don't worry just start at one again.

Let me know how it works for you [email]. For other techniques, see the Wiki reference below.

Best thing is to establish a routine so that once you start getting ready, your body and subconscious will expect to go to sleep soon.

Be aware, tossing and turning can be a problem and does usually indicate that you need to talk to someone about what is on your mind. Please do so; parents, doctor, teacher, friend may be good if they will listen without judging [sometimes hard for teens and their listeners] - talk to a professional if you need to and can afford it.

good night
Go into the most relaxing position. Stop thinking if can't put something cool on your eyes.
You should not expose yourself to very bright light which is a signal to the brain to become active.More details at http://nosleep.in/
