Can social anxiety or phobia be Hereditary?what i mean is, can u have it if ur mom, dad, or a relative had it?

Answer:
Social phobias can be inherited or learned. Clinical psychologist and social phobia specialist, Catherine Madigan says, "Hereditary or genetic influenced can account for 30% of the chance of developing social phobia with environmental factors accounting for the remaining 70%". Environmental factors can include "traumatic experiences of humiliation, upbringing by parents, observing and learning from the social behaviour of parents, class mates, etc", says Catherine.
I'm not sure. I can tell you that I have problems w/ generalized anxiety, as does my father. His mom (my grandma) did too.
My other grandmother does, as well, but none of her children do (my mom and her siblings).
Yes. Anxieties can be hereditary. But, even though, you do not have to be a slave to your genes. There are many resources out there to learn how to handle such issues in your life.

Genetic mental health issues are tough to deal with but they do not have to rule your life.
I don't know if it's hereditary, but if you were raised in that environment I am sure you "learned" it from them.
Genes do not have anything to do with anxiety or phobias. Some families may had a trauma together and that can cause anxiety. Heredity has nothing to do with that. I have a phobia of bugs because I went to a sleep over party when I was 8 years of age and her family lived in an apartment building. The neighbor sprayed for roaches and they were crawling through the doors and any way they could get in. That was scary. I am 43 and still scared of bugs. The girls are my age too and still scared of bugs. I live in Alaska now and roaches and fleas are rare here and want it to stay that way.
