Can Someone Tell Me The disorder Or Problem With My Uncle It's Psychological Read Details?

My uncle has this problem with continuously repeating something I believe he is unsure about OR wants to be true. My uncle in generally very normal but as an example a couple days ago he wasn't sure if a check he got for something would clear the bank. Every once in a while he would say "the check will clear the bank becasue Sam is a pilot and makes thousands a year" He would say that sometimes dozens of times a day at CERTAIN TIMES. Some times he point at things when he says these phrases as well. There have been others usually IT'S SOMETHING THAT IS OBVIOUS but he has to state it over and over again at certain times. CAN ANYONE HELP ME??

Thanks!!
Answer:
According to popular psychological theory, most people would say this is Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD). However, it could be that your uncle has an anxiety disorder that gives him a problem in dealing with stress. If so, then when he goes over his stress threshold (which might be low) then he will do repetitive things to reassure himself and thus lower his stress level back to a manageable level. Try giving him something physical to do when he starts repeating himself (like chopping vegetables, or counting things, or folding %26 sorting clean laundry). This will give him an outlet for his energy and give a non-verbal cue that he is not having to deal with things that are out of his control...
all i can think of is OCD, because it's like a ritual (like saying it at certain times and such..idk.) he might just be trying to reassure himself but doesn't realize he's doing it..?
Sounds like he is perseverating. Has he had a head injury? OCD is a good bet too.
could be a self conscious thing reassure himself as to his decision...or early signs of of something more I am not a Doctor so I'm really guessing here...although I have been involved with the health care of persons who are and I don't kike to say it...mentally challenged or handicapped...early signs of ALS is an argumentative state about everything...there are too many disorders to list here good luck...
It sounds like obsessive compulsive disorder, where they have specific tendencies. For some reason, it also sounds like autism or Alzheimer's. My friend's grandfather would repeat phrases as he progressed through Alzheimer's. He would repeat himself and obsessively check locks on doors. I guess there are overlapping symptoms?

Check that out and see if any of his behaviors overlap. Best of luck with getting your uncle help.
